Updated 8/18/2006
On this page I am posting some additional aids for BSEE students for course planning. These are unofficial documents and do not replace regular advising, but will hopefully help you with course planning. Please remember, you should see an advisor at least once a semester and your should see the chief advisor if you have special problems or concerns.
- Important new changes in the EE Program & introductory EE classes for Fall, 2006
- Information on registering for EECS 215, 230, 306, 311, 312, and 320 for Fall, 2006
- Excel Spreadsheet for self-diagnosis on graduation. If you download the Excel workbook file at this link, you can run an unofficial graduation audit for yourself. Try doing this, print the result, and bring it to your next advising session. To use it, find the worksheet tab that describes your program. There are 4 programs depending on when you declared as an EE: 2001, 2003, 2004, 2006. You should know the program for which you declared, otherwise consult the EE advising center. For the 2001-2004 programs, there are separate worksheets for each program depending on whether or not you are taking EECS 401 or Math 425. For 2006, EECS 401 is required and Math 425 is not an option. If you think you are ready for graduation but you have negative numbers showing in any of the “difference” columns, then you may have a real problem and this is a warning that you really need to see an advisor. Again, even if this checks out fine, you should see an advisor to verify your course selections. Worksheet Updated 4/15/06
- You need to plan ahead for taking your Major Design Experience class (MDE). All our MDE’s have substantial prerequisites and many are offered only one semester/year. The linked document diagrams some of these issues for the EE-approved MDE’s. Please see an advisor and see the chief advisor if you have special issues. {NOTE: This is not yet updated to reflect the new program changes}
